I go to Toscano & Sons at least twice a week for lunch to have the market's delicious Porchetta panini (with seasoned roast pork and fontina cheese). Because I've been getting the same sandwich for so long, the owners know me by name and know what I'll order before I say anything.

Imagine what it would be like to eat the same exact sandwich two to three times a week...for more than a year. Most people would begin to loathe that sandwich and dread having to eat it again. This isn't the case for me.
Why have I not grown sick and tired of this sandwich? Because it's amazing. And on the rare occasion that I try one of Toscano & Son's other paninis, I find I love them too (just not as much as the Porchetta).
And the paninis are all under $5, which is a bargain lunch for what you get.
I give my favorite sandwich shop an "A" for great food, reasonable prices and awesome owners.

Have you ever had a potato pancake with cream cheese and apple sauce? What about Spätzle? What about Schnitzel? Those are the type of traditional German Dishes you can find at Kurt's and Vreny's. Honestly, I have had German Cuisine twice now and it does not knock me off my feet.
However, at least now, I can do a decent comparison of certain dishes. For example, I enjoyed the Kaese Spätzle much more at Kurt's and Vreny's. That was an appetizer The Foodie ordered. Spätzle is an egg noodle of soft texture. Kaese Spätzle is just those egg noodles blended with cream and emmenthaler cheese. Emmentaler cheese is a yellow, medium hard cheese that is from Switzerland. It has holes in it similar to Swiss Cheese and is sometimes called the Swiss Cheese of North America. Here is a picture of Kaese Spätzle:
Ok, ok, it's macaroni and cheese with a fancy name but it was good. Also, I had a Sausage Bratwurst Appetizer and a the 5-6oz Fried Twin Maine Lobster Tails for my entree. I enjoyed my appetizer and my entree was different but very good. They actually fried the lobster tails. Anyhow, I have always wondered what Bratwurst tasted like and now I finally know.Well, I don't know because I can't explain what it tastes like but................ yeah, I don't really have anything else to say about it. Anyhow, the meal was decent and we ended up only paying about 50 bucks including the tip because we took advantage of another Open Table Spotlight deal. Those deals are starting to be nice. Still, I hate to present the coupon at restaurants for some reason. Maybe I don't want to look like the serial coupon guy.
Weird or Not? It is kind of weird but whatever....... Lastly, the wait staff was pretty awesome. I don't usually say awesome but I could not think of another nerdy word. They were extremely nice and our waiter actually got into a German conversation with "The Foodie". That was kind of cool except for the fact that I did not understand a damn thing they were saying. I would go back to Kurt's and Vreny's if I am craving macaroni and cheese and Italian sausage. lol!!!!

I don't know if I have said this before but if so, I have to reiterate this again: There is NOTHING one steakhouse can do from a food standpoint that thoroughly separates them from another steakhouse. Firstly, I would say the majority of your so-called "best steakhouses" all have the same premium cuts of steak which are the Porterhouse, T-Bone, Filet Mignon and Ribeye. You can get most of these steaks with the bone-in or boneless. In my opinion, the bone-in does not change the taste of the steak.
Secondly, it does not take a genius to cook a steak to the correct temperature so in most steakhouses, they can cook your steak perfectly whether it's cooked rare, medium rare, medium, medium well done, well done or in some cases, you may get it overcooked. Thirdly, although the primary means of aging beef in the United States these days is wet aging, I am assuming that most premium steakhouses can get you dry-aged beef where the moisture is evaporated from the muscle which causes a great concentration of flavor and the beef’s natural enzymes break down the connective tissue in the muscle which leads to more tender beef. So with all that said, the only other things that a steakhouse can offer you is decor/ambiance, price and customer service. Let's assume that all major steakhouses like Ruth's Chris, Maestro's and all other high priced steakhouses have close to the same decor/ambiance, prices and customer service give or take maybe a few bad visits or your occasional aggravating waiter or waitress. After you take all my assumptions into consideration, you end up with the same medium cooked filet with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and a $15 dollar glass of Riesling. Am I right? Of course I am right. I guess my question is why do people go to Steakhouses so regularly and even more, why do people go to overpriced steakhouses so regularly? My simple answer is that people are creatures of habit and a common food that is safe, familiar and hard to mess up is a lot more practical than trying Ostrich for $40 bucks especially when it looks like this:
Before it looks like this:
Why does that look so much like a steak you have had before? Anyhow, Maestro's had the valet parking, the fabulous quiet "I feel like I am rich decor", the high priced steaks, the idiot chef who could not get it wrong, great customer service and equal food to any other high priced steakhouse I have been to. Also, they took half off of our bill because they cooked a few steaks the wrong way so it was only $300 bucks instead of $600. I guess the chef was an idiot or were we the idiots for going? Who knows? I'm hungry. I'm headed to Ruth's Chris for lunch. lol!!!! Later!!

Every once in a while, you may stumble into a place where your expectations are low but then after you leave, you are more than pleasantly surprised. It's kind of the same feeling I had when I saw Batman Begins. I was all "Batmaned" out from the ridiculous sequels after the first Batman with Jack Nicholson. I was very close to being done with Batman all together. The only reason I went to see this new Batman was because I am kind of a nerd for comic book movies.
Well, on today, I am a nerd for Los Reyes!!!!!!
The first thing that turned me into a Los Reyes Nerd was the Margaritas. They were exceptionally well made and trust me, I know what a good margarita tastes like considering I get one almost everywhere I go. Secondly, I had the sizzling fajitas for dinner and they were several notches above what you may get at a Chili's or your normal chain Mexican Restaurant like On the Border. Matter of fact, that was the best sizzling fajitas I have EVER had!!! (Disclaimer: I do not go to a lot of Mexican Restaurants but I will start to in an effort to give you better insight) In addition to that, I recommend this amazing white cheese that we got on the side for the fajitas that was extra soft and tasted a lot different than the processed cheese you may get at another place. Similarly, the onions, red and green peppers were different as well as they seemed unusually, unbelievably fresh. Thirdly, they had a Mexican Band that I never thought I would see other than on Heartbreak Kid or The Three Amigos.
Los Reyes took "The Foodie" and I by storm and we went two times in two weeks only to drink two pitchers of margaritas in two weeks......... Oh, and to eat. lol!!!!! Both times were great and I have no complaints.

(THAT'S NOT ME BY THE WAY!!!!)

I am always kind of leery of restaurants that are a part of a hotel because for some reason, my mind leads me to believe that the restaurant is not trying to function in and of itself but just trying to play second fiddle to an extravagant hotel. The Foodie, The Foodie's Mother and I had reservations at 8:00 at this restaurant. Of course I was early and The Foodie and here mom was late because they had trouble finding the place. Even though I did not drink before they arrived, I was fairly impressed with the lobby bar. Here is a picture below:
The Foodie and her mom arrived a little after 8. It happened to be Midtown Restaurant Week in Atlanta................. Okay, I knew it was and that is one of the reasons we picked this place. Okay, we are cheap but I have to get some discounts every now and then considering that I have been to 145 different restaurants or bars since June 2009. Give me a break!!!! Anyhow, they had a pre-fixed $25.00 dollar menu. The Foodie and I got the exact same thing which was the Georgia Banks Pan Seared Scallops with Smoked Gouda Cream Corn as a first course, Pan Roasted Duck Breast with Sweet Potato Mash as my second course and The Warm Chocolate Gateau with hazelnut ice cream and griottine confit as my third course. I must admit that I have had better Duck Breast. It wasn't bad but it just did not want to make me want to slap somoene.
Anyhow, even though The Duck Breast was not Great, The Scallops with Gouda Cream Corn was amazing!!!!!!!! The corn and scallops blended well together and the corn was definitely a unique taste. It is hard for me to explain what it tasted like so just go and taste it for yourself. I loved it and so did the Foodie and if The Foodie loved it, it had to be good. With the Scallops saving the entire meal, I would give the food a (B-). The atmsosphere was very quiet, not too crowded, dark, romantic and personal just like I like it so I give Eleven an A for the ambiance. All in all, here is my grade:
B - Great Quiet Atmosphere and Great Pan Seared Scallops and Creamed Corn as a First Course

This place has absolutely nothing to do with food but "The Foodie" and I have been to this place twice now and we have found it to be a lot more interesting then we initially thought. The top task to do in this place is definitely "people watching." The two times we went to this place we saw this strange white guy who wears a long sleeved button down shirt who just dances wrecklessly with as about as much rhythm as an elephant. Still, it has to be some sort of a moral victory for the guy to go out on the dance floor and humilate himself week after week.
However, he just stood in a gaze and calmly walked away. Finally, we saw the "Pretty Ricky's" who seem to admire themselves more than they admire women. All in all, if you add in the people watching with the drinks and the homely atmosphere, it is actually an okay place to go and dance to hip hop/top 40 music if you are bored on a weekend in Atlanta and you don't want to pay an expensive cover charge.

Secondly, we see the professional black dancer guys who stand on the stage, wear weird outfits and do weird seemingly choreographed dances together like they are on "So You Think You Can Dance".
The first time we went those weird dressed, stage dancing guys were really into one of their routines. As they were dancing, this weird short guy who was about 5'3 wearing penny loafers just stared at them with a divine focus that you only see in lying lawyers or PETA workers. He also had a weird pony tail haircut that was bald in the front. If I did not know any better, I swear that he was about to clear the floor and start breakdancing.

I think I might have talked about this in one of my previous reviews but I can't remember so I will mention it again. Last month The Foodie and I were on our " Hotel Restaurant Tour." Yes, I did talk about this. I remember now. I mentioned that I am a little leery of hotel restaurants because in my mind, they are only an addition to a hotel as oppose to vice versa. Well, Livingston's is a hotel restaurant. The first thing that pops in my mind about Livingston's is where we sat. It was about 7:00 pm and it was a beautiful day so The Foodie and I decided to sit outside. When I first met The Foodie, I used to wonder why she wanted to sit outside. Livingston's is the reason why. Sitting at Livingston's ,which is almost directly across the street from the Fox Theater, truly gave me a feeling of a fabulous dinner. If I am not mistaken, it was Dragon Con. Dragon Con is a North America multigenre convention, held annually in Atlanta, Georgia. The 40,000-plus-member convention encompasses five hotels in downtown Atlanta near Centennial Olympic Park, and is hosted by a 1500-member volunteer staff. Dragon Con was launched in 1987, as a project of a local science fiction and gaming group, the Dragon Alliance of Gamers and Role-Players (DAGR), founded by Ed Kramer. Basically, if you need some clarification on what Dragon Con is, it is a comic book nerd festival. Maybe that is why I felt extra cool at Livingston's. I guess anyone can feel cool when you are looking at a 45 year old man walking down Peachtree Street in a Predator outift.
Anyhow, aside from the "Cool" view, there was nothing extremely exciting about Livingston's Restaurant. I was in one of my "What is that, let me try it modes" so I decided to get the following:
Braised Rabbit 22.
orecchiette / kale / olives / crispy garlic
It was okay. It was kind of like beef stew but instead of beef, it was rabbit. It sounded a lot better when the waiter was explaining it. He sure did a good job of hyping that up but it was cool. I had fun people watching and the food was decent.

My reason is because I consider myself a food guy and not a " price to food ratio guy, if ratio is too high, I don't like the restaurant". Wow, I wish I know the meaning of what I just said. Who cares? Anyhow, as I was saying, if the food is good, my mind does not let my heart deny it. Period!!!! In addition to the good food, the layout, scenery and the ambiance of this place was absolutely sensational. It was an upscale place with a great wait staff and the place really gave me a royal feeling. For dinner, The Foodie and I had the following menu items:
Muscovy Duck Breast & Confit Leg 37
Berkshire Pork Rib Chop 34.*

"Buckhead Restaurants are overpriced and the food is overrated." That is the constant theme I hear from The Foodie whenever we attempt to go to a Buckhead Restaurant to dine out. Well, you have to know that I do not believe anything unless I see, hear or taste it for myself so recently, I have become more curious in trying Buckhead Restaurants. On this fine day that we visited Craft Atlanta, we had an Open Table Spotlight deal for $25 dollars off of our meal. That was a pretty decent deal. Now listen carefully to me in my next statement: Although the restaurant was expensive, the food did not disappoint at all!!!!!! I always tell people that as long as the food is good, I have no problem paying the dollar, dollar bill yall.
My reason is because I consider myself a food guy and not a " price to food ratio guy, if ratio is too high, I don't like the restaurant". Wow, I wish I know the meaning of what I just said. We also had about 2 drinks each.......... OH SHIT (sorry for cussing), I almost forgot that along with my food obsession, I also consider myself a random specialty drink connoisseur. The Americano Specialty Cocktail on the Craft Atlanta menu is THE WORST SPECIALTY DRINK I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Craft, if you are listening, please take that SHIT (not sorry for cussing) off of the menu!!!!
Okay, let me get back to my regularly scheduled program. The food was actually WELL ABOVE AVERAGE. The food delivered for me and what I especially liked was the Berkshire Pork Rib Chop. It was very tender and not dry like a normal pork chop dish usually is.That was undoubtedly the best dish of that kind I have ever had. The Foodie agrees with me there. My Duck Breast was also good but that was not the best I have ever had. I am a HARSH DUCK BREAST CRITIC FOLKS!!!!!
Lastly, you are probably wondering what we ended up paying for this lovely meal. With my $25 dollar Open Table Spotlight deal, the total for this meal came to $92.00. So that is a total of $117. Was it worth it? I will answer that in my most straight, direct, absolute unwavering tone of voice: Yes and No.
(B-) FOOD WAS GREAT but the Americano Cocktail SUCKED!!!!

A close friend of mine that lives in Atlanta invited me to this place recently. I had not seen him in about a month so we were looking to get together, have a few drinks, eat some good food and catch up. As I have said on many occasions, I am originally from New Orleans so when it comes to someone copying The New Orleans cuisine, I think I approach the situation with a slight brick wall.
If I remember correctly, we met on like a Tuesday. I drove down to Atlanta to meet him at his house. We jumped in one car and headed to Crawfish Shack Seafood. We were not sure if they were still selling crawfish because of the time but luckily, they were. Of course, I did not order crawfish. I ordered a shrimp po-boy. After that, my mind begin to interpret the coming events as strange or as I like to call them, "Twilight Zone Events". My friend went up to order and he ordered 4 pounds of crawfish. Almost as soon as he finished his last syllable, I responded with a surprised and bewildered, "Damn, your getting 4 pounds!!!!!"
He responded with a calm, "Yes Man." This is his normal reaction in most situations but in my mind, he said it with a more assured tone of voice. We both waited for our food and it took less than 10 minutes to come out. My shrimp po-boy came out first. It looked normal I guess. However, as I bit into it, there was one problem. The problem was that the bread was extra crispy which I do not like. It was crispy to the point of almost stale. Still, the shrimp were good though and I continued to eat it. About a few seconds later, a 4 pound bowl of crawfish came out.
I have to admit when I saw the amount of crawfish in the bowl, I was more than intrigued but I had to stick to my guns with my shrimp sandwich so when he initially offered me some crawfish, I responded, "Nah, I'm good." So as I was finishing my stale ass sandwich up, I realized that my friend still had almost 2 pounds of crawfish left. Not only that but I noticed that he was sniffling, had crawfish residue all over and he had one eye slightly close as he devoured his meal. If you have ever eaten crawfish, you know that these reactions are a signal that the crawfish is "off the chains".
Anyhow, it was right about this time that I begin to tremble because I felt at that point that my decision of a shrimp po-boy was deeply flawed. I wanted to be the guy with the one eye closed. I wanted to be the guy with his lips swollen and his hands needing a thorough washing afterward. He just kept chomping away and I sat their in utter torture as the healthy, meaty crawfish rapidly turned into empty heads and tails. The funny part was at one point when he looked down at his phone, I actually "snuck" a peak:
When he looked up, I just acted like I was getting a text from my phone when in reality, I had not receive a text in over two hours so all I really was doing was looking at my menu screen.
The crawfish was dwindling fast and I was getting desperate. I wanted some of those crawfish....No, I needed some of those crawfish. I had just finishing eating but the smell and the thought of the crawfish juice in my mouth had me thinking I was one of those skinny kids that can be fed for one dollar a day.
At that point, I made up my mind that I would say forget it, swallow my pride and just ask for some. How can it hurt? All he could say was no. So as I was about to open my mouth to admit that I had underestimated Trey Songz who is an underrated R&B musician and Kyle Orton who is an underrated NFL quarterback that my friend likes and who had become analogous to the Crawfish he was eating, I got the best statement I had heard in a while, "Man, you sure you don't want some. I can't eat all this shit".
He came through again.

This was one of about six places that The Foodie and I visited as we embarked on our "Second Annual Once a Month One & Done One Drink Minimum Tour".
Laseters's Tavern was one of those places that had that Neighborhood Friendly Bar atmosphere where all the customers seem to go regularly. The Foodie ordered a beer and I had my customary "Can you Concoct Me A Sweet Caribbean Drink". Of course the Foodie looked on in embarrassment like always and of course I sat there like I have never done that before. Anyway, that was one of the two exciting and funny things that happened at Laseter's. The other was this weird old guy who ordered a Crown Royale on the rocks, a water with a lemon and a Michelob Ultra. This guy had already kind of struck me as weird with his "slick back old guy hairdo" and his tone of voice and with the unique mixture of drinks, I was sure he was weird. He kind of reminded me of William Forsythe except he was not wearing glasses.
Anyhow, I probably won't ever go here again but not because it was bad or had bad service or anything. It was just one of many places I found on my drinking tour and the rules are we can not duplicate any bars on this Atlanta Wide Tour. lol!!!!

Big Easy Grille (Atlanta,GA) - New Orleans Style
Big Easy Grille
Category: Restaurants

Atlanta, GA 30318

Hey, I like the Big Easy Grille folks. Okay, it's not a great, magnificent, game changer like Kurt Cobain, Madonna, Elvis, Michael Jackson or a U2. However, it is a cozy, respectable, everyday grind it out, enjoyable place to eat some good New Orleans food and have some good New Orleans drinks. Like I said, it is not a game changer but it seems to just keep trucking like a Mary J. Blige, Usher or a Dave Matthews Band.
I have been to the Big Easy Grille twice and the first time I had a Shrimp Po-boy, Gumbo and a few specialty drinks and the second time, I just endulged myself on the alcohol!! I am a Food Critic as well as a Specialty Drink Critic. The Foodie can vouch for me on that claim. lol!!! Anyhow, the layout is very cluttered and impersonal just like a local New Orleans establishment. Also, the place was decorated with all kinds of paraphernalia of some local Louisiana items and sports teams that many people outside of Lousiana would not know off the top of their heads. I suspected that the owner was from New Orleans. Consequently, I made my way over to him and met him and he is a nice guy. As it turns out, he is from Slidell, Louisiana. For those of you who do not know where Slidell, Louisiana is in regards to New Orleans, see below:
So, as you can tell by the map, it is pretty close so let's just call it New Orleans. I had a brief but productive conversation with the owner and we had a lot of things in common..... Oh yes, finally, he was a bigger guy so that should tell that he can cook!!! lol!!!! Anyhow, I give The Big Easy Grille the following Grade:
B - Good Food, Nice Owner and Laid Back New Orleans Atmosphere

One thing is evident and that is that Downtown Marietta is no downtown Chicago folks. Trust me on that one!!!!! From utter boredom because we have been under the impression that the only things we do is eat and drink, The Foodie and I took one Saturday and just went to every possible place we could go in 8 hours and we embarked on this new, exciting and great activity. We ate and drank. Man, we have some exciting lives!!!!!!!! Anyhow, if I am not mistaken, I think this was close to the last place we went that day. We actually came at a bad time as the bar was setting up for a wedding reception. Consequently, we had to move from where we originally sat to make room for the Wedding Party. That kind of sucked because at this point, we were like 8 drinks in and moving was not the easiest thing to do.
Anyhow, we did not stop there to take a break from drinking. We actually had drinks and a desert. I had the Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Pie served with whip cream and I had an Irish Coffee with Bailey's, Kahlua and Cream. The strange thing about it was the Coffee had more liquor in it than the Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Pie........ Damn, that was a corny ass joke. Anyhow, I believe The Foodie just had two beers. I forgot what kind but she was sobering up....Wink, Wink, (The Foodie thinks beer is sobering up). We were in and out and we were on to the next stop.

Goin' Coastal (Atlanta, GA) - Seafood
Goin' Coastal
Category: Seafood
Virginia Highlands
1021 Virginia Ave
Atlanta, Georgia 30306

http://www.goincoastalseafood.com/
Have you ever encountered someone who on a certain day, they were craving some sort of food and they just had to have it? Well, that person was me, that day was yesterday and my drug of choice was seafood. For me, cravings usually happen when I see a commercial or I am at a restaurant and I see someone else getting ready to eat what I thought about ordering. It is one of the instances where you take a second, sneak a peek, enjoy the peek and then afterward you know you really shouldn't have did that.
Anyway, my craving or my peek as I call it stemmed from a sort of bad experience. I had some horrible peel and eat shrimp when I was in Ohio and my mind just could not accept the fact that the Shrimp were that bad. Consequently, my craving began and the hunt was on. On yesterday, we were in search of a good seafood place. We looked and looked via our smart phones until we stumbled to the point of falling into Goin' Coastal.
Apparently, Goin' Coastal has only been open for a month in the Highlands Neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia. Still, if you were there yesterday and you used the crowd as any indication, you would have thought it was open for much longer than that because it was pretty crowded. We found out after a few minutes that there was this really cool special going on for a family dinner for $17.00. It included, two entrees, four sides, a salad and a desert. We ordered that and we also added some seared scallops to our meal as an appetizer. The Foodie had the Rainbow Trout and I had the Peel and Eat Shrimp as an entree.
The food delivered and satified my craving. In addition to that, whatever kind of aggravation we would have experienced with the wait or the crowd disappeared totally because of our waitress was very personable and funny. On top of that, the price was a real steal. We ended up eating a boat load of stuff for about 70 bucks. We had a least 6 drinks to go with the $17.00 Family Dinner. The food to price ratio was so good (Did I just make that up?) that I spent all morning trying to calculate what we had and why it was so cheap. I felt like an accountant during tax time.
I would definitely recommend this place folks. Everything was great and I had a good time.

Dario "The Average Man" Writes:
What is a food critic? What human being has the perfect credentials to justify to every other single person in the world that they are absolutely sure what a flawless meal entails? Am I missing something? Is there a secret society with an ID card somewhere that says Prime Minister of Food instead of Prime Minister of Great Britain??
I don't think so!!! Wait, I hope not because if so, that would be nerdy. Anyhow, the point is I could easily believe with all my heart that one restaurant completely sucks and Gordon Brown pictured above could believe the opposite. I will always argue with The Foodie that judging food is like trying to determine who is the better actor out of Robert DeNiro & Al Pacino.
It is almost a question without an answer. We, as food critics, just solemnly swear to give you some insight into our world, our taste buds and our overall view or what we expect out of a good restaurant and good food. I, for one, like to use my experience as the determining factor. I point to the fact that I have been to enough restaurants to have a good idea about what I prefer when I eat Steak, Duck, Beef Carpacio, Calamari, Chicken, Pork Chop, Ahi Tuna, Escargot and many other foods. With that said, you have to trust me when I say that Marlow's Tavern had really, really, really, really good food!!! It was an unexpected surprise. It was one of those instances where I did not expect it and it hit me like a whirlwind similar to when Life said he would take my spot or my high school basketball team or when Allen Iverson did a crossover on Micheal Jordan.
Did the fact that it was unexpected make the food actually better than what it really was? Who Knows? I am just a food critic. I don't know shit!!!! lol!!! Anyhow, we had the FireCracker Shrimp, Ahi Tuna(a special) and The Grilled Chicken Stack. Everything was above the curve and I walked away with that "JJ Evans Dynamite Look":

I have a friend of mine that pointed something very important to me when I was living in Kenner, Louisiana. For those of you who don't know where Kenner is, Kenner is a city in Jefferson Parish and a suburb of New Orleans. The population is about 70-80K. It is about 15-20 miles west of New Orleans. Yeah, this friend of mine who is from Kenner by the way, walked into my apartment and had a drink from my bar. As he was having a drink, he looked at me with a straight face and said, "Dog, why do you have a bar with no bar stools?" (proper Kenner voice). I was amazed and shocked because when I looked down, I realize I did not have any bar stools. I did not know what to say so I said nothing because I wanted to avoid any further embarrassment because if he found out that my bar was actually an upside down dingy Wal-Mart TV stand that my roomate in Michigan had left on purpose, I would not have ever lived it down. So my response was just, "Come on." (Not my actual response...I actually get that from Party. Party is my friend's name by the way. Why is he party? Long story...............)
Anyhow, how does this relate to Cafe Intermizzo? When The Foodie and I went to Cafe Intermizzo, we could not find anywhere I liked to sit (I am a notorious unhappy seat area person) so we choose a spot in the corner with some "high ass" stools. Aside from the high stools, Cafe Intermizzo is actually a cool place. It is quiet and you can get every kind of desert you can imagine. We had our own little personal area, some desert and enough space and noise control to have a good conversation. I most definitely will go back. If you are looking for a quiet place that serves drinks and deserts, Cafe Intermizzo is the place. I would definitely recommend it as a "chill spot to hang out with friends.

Wait, do you still not know? What about now?
Okay, now that you know, I can finally tell you about the food at Six Feet Under. If I have said this before, erase that completely from your mind and take this next phrase as law: Six Feet Under has the best seafood outside of New Orleans that I have ever had!!!!! I brought my mom and dad there when they were visiting in town last week and I was serenaded with the great look of approval from both. They were proud parents. We had the Barbecue Strip, Oyster Rockefeller, Shrimp and Grits, Fried Shrimp and Oyster Platter and my mom ended off with a Baked White Fish. Everything, and I mean everything was really good. It was not too spicy for people who are not into spicy foods but there was hot sauce on every table if you desired to spice it up a bit. The price was really good too as a dinner for three came out to $86.50. Pretty good huh? Anyhow, I have to give this place a huge thumbs up and a grade of an A !!!!!
Happy Eating,
Dario "The Average Man" Mobley

DARIO " THE AVERAGE MAN" WRITES:
I have been to Vickery's twice for Sunday Brunch and they offer a $10-12 buffet style brunch with endless Mimosas. Yeah, the word Mimosa sounds like something cool but when I found out that it is just orange juice and Champagne, I kind of realized that it is just a cool name. lol!!!!! Still, I usually drink the cool named, want to be cool but not really cool drink whenever I go to brunch.
Anyhow, the buffet usually consists of grits, eggs, sausage links or patties, bacon, french toss, mixed fruit and biscuits and gravy. In the two times I was there, I liked the food. The wait staff is really friendly and it is usually all guys who are "extra friendly" if you know what I mean. Nonetheless, it is fun and I would go back again and if you are looking for a good price buffet brunch, this is the place. the only issue is parking but other than that, I give it a B grade.
Happy Eating,
Dario "TAM" Mobley
